Meet the Founder

Nuno Madeira do Ó

Nuno is the founder and CEO of ScienceHouse Consultancy, a company he started in 2022 to answer the consultancy requests he received.

He has held positions as Head of Biopharmaceutical Development (Pion, Inc) and as Head of International Business Development at the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, where he was involved in several in- and out-licensing and commercial transactions.

Nuno also served as COO at Quest Meat and as CEO and Co-Founder at Bastion Therapeutics, where he led the company’s fundraising efforts.

Currently, he serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Altheome and is also an Advisor at Simplex Molecular. He is also an Auxiliary Professor at Universidade Europeia, where he’s part of a Master’s in Health Management, as well as the creator of a post-graduate diploma in Entrepreneurship in Science and Technology.

Nuno has a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Algarve (First Class honours), a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Sevilla (Distinction) and a PhD in Advanced Drug Delivery and Tissue Engineering from the University of Nottingham.

The Team

Soraia da Silva Gomes

Business Operations Assistant, Soraia, supports the company's daily operations and contributes to improving internal efficiency.

Her duties involve assisting in the planning and monitoring of daily operational activities (including schedule management), handling documentation, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the business.

With strong organisational skills and attention to detail, Soraia supports communication with external stakeholders, manages multiple priorities, and helps management make informed decisions based on operational insights.

Soraia is currently completing a degree in International Relations at the Universidade de Coimbra.
